Going into the 2019 Girls Soccer season the teams to keep a eye on is Yamhill-Carlton, Catlin Gabel, Oregon Episcopal, St Marys Medford, and Brookings Harbor and Blanchet.
The team that might surprise the 3a Soccer world might just be Blanchet as they were ranked #5 on OSAA last season and only lose two players from graduation. This season you will see alot of the Powerhouse programs losing alot of seniors and with time you will see how good they might be.
The next team that might continue to find success is Yamhill-Carlton as they return 7 seniors coming off a 14-2 season before losing in the Quarterfinals to Blanchet 1-0. Oregon Episcopal will lose 7 seniors from their roster this year but return a handful of very skilled players, OES is just like Cascade Christian of 3a football they always seem to get quality players and with great coaching makes them into contenders each year.
This season in Boys Soccer the heavy favorite to win the State Championship will be Oregon Episcopal as they only lose one senior from a team that lost in the State Championship to Catlin Gabel 1-0.
However, Catlin Gabel will also be very good as they only lose three seniors and return a large portion of the starting lineup that started int he State Championship game.
Generally, 3a Soccer has a few quality teams and the rest are mediocre at best, but this season is different as you have 5-6 quality teams that might stir things up and make playoff pushes, etc.(Dayton, St Marys Medford, Brookings-H,Cascade Christian, North Clackamas, Crosshill Christian).
This year might look just like last year as OES and Catlin Gabel being the best in 3a and eventually meeting in the final game. Both of these schools are Soccer schools and have dominated the sport for the last few years.
