Key Losses- Joey Tripp (everything), Drew Nelson DL/OL,Cameron Governale DL/OL, Connor Thompson DL/OL,Logan Keizur DL/OL, Austin Cantrell LB/TE.
Key Returners- Kenney Tripp QB/WR,Easton Crape OL/DL, Nate Gaines DL/OL,David Katon RB/LB,Tao Ruff DL/OL.
Going into the 2019 football season Rainier is a team that lost a good amount of talent from the 2018 team that won the State Championship, but they also bring back several key pieces from that team. Kenney Tripp is moving from wide receiver to QB this fall, this will potentially make them a better passing team as Kenney has a quality arm. Rainier will be bringing back two first team all state players in David Katon (1st team all state rb), and Easton Crape (received first team all state on OL and DL as well as being named the Lineman of the year). The 2019 Rainier team will be very competitive and will be a tough team to stop once again.
We Predict Rainier will go 8-1 or 7-2 during the regular season, However I would lean towards them winning 8 games in the regular season in 2019. Also Osaa just updated Rainiers schedule and they will be traveling down to Sc to play in the Jamboree. That Jamboree will be loaded with playoff bound teams like Rainier, Amity, Sc, and rising star YC.
Bottom line: Mike king is their coach, and there is a Tripp playing Quarterback. They’ll be fine.
Amity
Key losses- West Streeter LB/RB, Harvey Hoff RB/LB,Brian Hatch RB/LB, Jonathon Mather RB/LB,Seth Valencia RB/NG,Tyler Parr QB/LB, Jeffrey Coleman OG/DT.
Key Returners- Payton Richardson WR/CB, Cody Dyche RB/LB, Jacob Bernards OT/DE.
Going into the 2019 season Amity is losing a large portion of the 2018 team that lost in the State Semi-Finals. This season Amity should still be a very competitive team but not even close to the team they were a year before. They will lose a lot of key linemen and running backs that made this team run so efficiently in 2018. Amity will bring back a few quality players like Cody Dyche and Russel Brown, but won’t be nearly as explosive. Having one of the states best coaches in Joel Magill, Amity will still find a way to finish at least third in league and make the playoffs once again.
We are predicting Amity to go 6-2 or 5-3 this season (as of August 12th they don’t have a week 2 game scheduled). This will still be a quality year for a team that lost most of the 2018 team that was unstoppable offensively (Except for that time Cascade Christian held them scoreless in the second half of the state semifinals). The defense will have to carry them, but with 4 time state champion Jon Tromblay heading up the defense in year 3 now, that shouldn’t be a problem.
